What is Your Wedding Photography Style?
It’s all about ‘capturing the moment’. I don’t control the day at all. I won’t organise you and your guests into positions for formal group shots, or move anything. Quite simply, I watch and wait . . . I photograph your wedding day as it happens; looking out for those all important moments and expressions. If you look at these snippets from Kate & Richard’s wedding at Stubton Hall, they will give you an idea of how my approach works.
What About Photos of the Two of Us?
I will take you away from your guests for 10 to 15 minutes about three times ~ usually between your ceremony and wedding breakfast ~ and we can go outside, just after your first dance. As the light will be changing each time, this adds a different atmosphere to your photographs.
Do you do posed or more traditional group shots?
I don’t work to lists or timetables and like to capture everyone as they are naturally. Your guests will form themselves into small groups whilst chatting and I will look for the best expressions and interactions. However, to ensure that your key guests are photographed with the least disruption to your day as possible, I will take up to six formal small group shots of significant guests, bridesmaids and groomsmen: usually after your ceremony, and before you go in for your meal. It’s a good idea to ask someone like your Best Man to organise getting the right people together in one spot as they will have a better idea who everyone is.
How early can we book?
I book up to two years in advance for Weddings, so please contact me as early as possible to ensure your date.
Our wedding isn’t until 2017. What will the price be?
Once you have paid your booking fee your date is reserved and the price is fixed so you won’t be asked to pay any more.
Are you insured?
I have full public liability and indemnity insurance and always carry two camera bodies, multiple memory cards, spare batteries and have data backup procedures.
Do you do Engagement or Pre Wedding Shoots?
Yes! Engagement or Pre Wedding shoots give us a chance to get to know each other a little better and for you to relax in front of the camera, ready for your big day.
I want to get married abroad? How far will you travel and how much extra will it cost?
More and more couples are taking their wedding photographer with them so that they can guarantee the results. Destination weddings, whether they are held in Barcelona or the Bahamas, are charged at the same rate as a wedding in the UK plus travel and accommodation. The amount of time I need to be away varies with each location so please ask me for a quote. Look at Ceri and Tony’s beautiful Crete wedding sneak preview here.
Do you do albums/books?
Yes I love to supply albums ~ click here for more info. Many of us are well intentioned but rarely get around to printing our digital photos. My albums are just beautiful! They are 100% British and eco friendly to boot. And you can choose which photos you want to put in parents’ albums if you want them designed individually, however, you can also buy duplicate albums. The 6×6 duplicates make fabulous bridesmaid and groomsman presents!
How much is the deposit?
A non-refundable booking fee of £350 will secure your date. The balance is due one month before your wedding.
I’m interested in booking. What’s the next step?
Whilst I will confirm your date with your booking fee and signed contract, I still like to introduce myself to you a few months before your wedding so that I can find out what’s really important to you both; and again about 6 weeks before. These visits often take place during the evening and last about 45 minutes.
