What’s the best time to book my photography session?
Maternity shoots are best scheduled around thirty-four to thirty-six weeks whilst newborn sessions are pencilled in to take place within the first two weeks after your baby’s birth. My diary fills quickly especially at weekends and I book up to 2/3 months in advance so please contact me early to ensure your date. If you have left this a bit late for a bump shoot do still get in touch, as my diary is more flexible mid week, and I will try to fit you in.
What about my stretch marks?
Please don’t worry ~ we can work around these with careful placing of hands, clothing and drapes.
I’ve removed my belly bar but there is a mark left on my skin. Will that show?
You will still be able to see it on your proof photos in your online viewing gallery. Marks like this, however, will be fully edited out if you wish at no extra charge on all the photographs that you buy.
Do you photograph older children as well?
Yes of course. Any age from 5 days up to 21 years. There is no best age ~ every age is ideal! My shorter outdoors on locations shoots are perfect for children over the age of 4/5 🙂
I’m worried that my house is not suitable; we are decorating etc.
I prefer to photograph children in their own homes or a familiar outdoor location, as they tend to be more relaxed. One of my favourite photos is this one from a Lifestyle session at my clients’ empty new home, complete with piles of freshly peeled wallpaper!
What should we wear?
For the most natural looking photographs you should avoid anything too formal, but after your booking is confirmed I will send you a Welcome Pack with tips on preparing for your Lifestyle Photography session, which also has a guide on what to wear.
