WOW I’ve had to keep this news under wraps for a while! As a member of The Click Collective, a group of female photographers from the UK and Ireland, I was invited to take part in the Professional Photographer magazine’s special report on ‘The Business of Boudoir’ photography. Adam Scorey, the magazine’s editor was talking with Catherine Connor from Aspire Photography Training at the SWPP trade show back in January about her thoughts on Boudoir photography and a plan snowballed from there. So early in May fellow Click Collective member Lee and I met with Adam, his assistant Jess, Catherine, Kate Hopewell Smith, and our models for the day ~ Rachel and Elle ~ in the beautiful town of Kirkby Lonsdale for a masterclass in boudoir photography.
As Lee and I are both full time professional photographers the aim was to establish whether we would consciously market Boudoir photography as part of our businesses. I have done a few Boudoir sessions but always guarantee 100% privacy so until now it’s never been common knowledge that I book this type of shoot, although it is a natural extension of my bump photography. The Royal Hotel was the perfect setting for the day’s shoot ~ we were looked after so well, I felt like royalty and gained loads from the day. I’m very grateful to Adam, Catherine, Kate, Jess and our models, not forgetting the Click Collective girls, without whom I wouldn’t have been there at all. It was brilliant to finally meet Kate too ~ she is a truly creative and inspiring photographer. I am also really chuffed to see that not only has Adam kindly included some of my photos in the latest edition of Professional Photographer magazine, he also somehow managed to capture a beautiful photo of me whilst we were having our pre shoot discussions.
And the outcome of all this? Well it’s official. I am a Boudoir Photographer! I always guarantee 100% privacy so your photos will never appear on my website, unless you want them to of course. If you would like to find out more or book a session with me, please get in touch by email or by ‘phoning 01604 779 020 or 07815 542 253. I’d love to hear from you 🙂
